I’m reading about anarchy and one of the questions that popped up was dealing with crime. For instance how would an anarchist “society” deal with crime.
This is one of the toughest questions since anarchy wants to do away with legislative and governing bodies imposed on the populace. Self-rule is the norm since anarchy promotes an extreme form of autonomy for the individual.
Considering the fallen state of Man this can hardly be done. But, quoting the Good Lord, I can picture an anarchistic society functioning without ever having to punish individuals. I quote from the Bible here:
Luke 6:31
King James Version
31 And as ye would that men should do to you, do ye also to them likewise.
This should be the foundation of an anarchistic society. Therefore such a society should be occupied solely by inwardly changed individuals who agree with and wholeheartedly support this doctrine. Crime would be absent altogether.
In this society everyone is accountable for his or her self while stating that your freedom is my freedom and your well-being is my well-being.
